My non-mathematical “special interests” include free verse and prose poetry, found-sound soundscapes / musique concrete, collage / decopauge, crime history and historiography, religious syncretism, and Charles VI of France’s relationship to the historical development of divinatory tarots and to European “wild man” lore. That last may sound mad-libbish but there’s actually a lot there.

“Merzbau” is the Hannover Merzbau (aka “Merzbau, Cathedral of Erotic Misery”) by Kurt Schwitters, destroyed in an Allied bombing raid in 1943, after Schwitters had fled to Norway to escape Nazi Germany. Background photo by Wilhelm Redemann, 1933. This is showing part of a room’s architecture (near the ceiling). Something about it really moves me. And it’s a great example of the phenomenon where, to create something great, you must follow your natural and intuitive interests, even as they lead you away from anything categorized or known. Sometimes it takes over your whole life. He did this in his own home; he was living in this.
